Flu Vaccinations in Schools
From September 2017, children in reception class and school years 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be offered a flu vaccination at schools in Gloucestershire.
The vaccine will be given as a nasal spray, which cannot cause flu but will build up a child’s immunity to the virus. There may be minor side-effects including a runny nose, headache, tiredness or some loss of appetite.
A short video on the vaccine is available and along with more information on the NHS Choices website. Information and leaflets for download are available on the Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust website. Additionally, there is a letter from Public Health England, Flu vaccination for primary school children.

Term Time Holidays
From September 2013 the government amended regulations regarding authorised absence from schools.
Headteachers are no longer able to authorise holidays taken during term time and may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. If required a form is available from the school office.
Ofsted invite parents to take the opportunity to let them know what they think about their child's school.
