Y6 Ultimate School Trip To Mallorca
What an amazing privilege it was for our Y6 children to spend a long weekend away in Mallorca having won this year's Jet2Holidays 'Ultimate School Trip' competition. Tasked with advertising the Sol Katmandu Holiday Resort in Mallorca, the Y6 children came up with many exciting projects and ideas before submitting them to be judged. To our absolute delight, one of the projects, a cleverly designed pop-up book, was shortlisted, winning £1000 for our school. After a week of public voting, we were over the moon and couldn't contain our excitement on discovery that we were one of the schools that had won - with a landslide margin of victory in our designated region of London. The weekend began with a night in the Radisson Blu Hotel in London, before flying to Palma de Mallorca from Stansted. What an experience it was being fast-tracked through the airport and treated as celebrities, and how special it was to be travelling all together on a plane. The experiences of the trip were truly ultimate and they came thick and fast - a science show with TV celebrities 'Richard and Dominic', an arts and craft workshop with children's TV presenter Angellica Bell and a dance lesson with Diversity's Jordan Banjo made up the educational aspects of the visit. One of the most enjoyable elements of our adventure was our exclusive visit to the amazing on-site water park, and further experiences included swimming, playing crazy golf, drinking slushies, having fun in the giant indoor soft play area, visiting the beach, eating incredible food, sleeping in amazing rooms and most importantly, spending time together. It truly was the most incredible opportunity for all of us. Wow, just wow!
