School Dinners

At Tirlebrook Primary School, we are proud to provide our children with the option to enjoy high-quality, great-tasting hot meals that use locally sources and seasonal produce (wherever possible). All food is freshly prepared and cooked by our trained kitchen staff in our on-site 5-star food hygiene rated kitchen. 

Each day, children have the choice of two hot meal options (including a vegetarian option), served with potatoes, pasta or rice and vegetables. A fresh selection of salad is provided daily for children as well as fresh bread. A homemade dessert, cold sweet and/or fruit are on offer daily. 

Our school dinner menus are designed to provide children with an appetising meal that forms part of a healthy and balanced diet.

Examples of some of the delicious meals on offer include:

• sausage and onion casserole with mashed potatoes
• spaghetti and meatballs
• tuna and pasta bake
• homemade cheese and tomato pizza
• toad in the hole with diced potatoes
• jumbo fish finger with chips

If children have any food allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements, famileis must inform the school office so that out catering team are aware and can prepare and provide meals for all children who would like them. 

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to enjoy a free school meal  as part of the universal infant free school meals scheme. For children in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6, school meals are priced at £2.50 per child. Children in Year 3 - Year 6 may be eligable to receive a free school meal if families meet specified criteria. Familes who would like their children to enjoy a school meal should order and pay for them via ScoPay. School meals should be ordered at least a week in advance of them being required to ensure that our catering staff can order all necessary produce and ingredients and ensure that all children are provided with the meal of their choice.
