The inspection team noted that Tirlebrook Primary School demonstrates a number of encouraging strengths and positive developments. Safeguarding is effective, and inspectors found that pupils feel safe within a culture where concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly. Children benefit from a particularly strong start in the early years, where caring relationships, high-quality teaching and a well-planned curriculum help them develop confidence and prepare successfully for the next stage of their education. Reading is a notable strength, with effective phonics teaching supporting pupils to become confident readers. Inspectors also recognised that recent leadership actions are beginning to have a positive impact, with improvements evident in writing, mathematics, attendance, inclusion and behaviour. Staff training, strengthened governance and effective use of external support are helping to drive these improvements forward. Pupils enjoy a rich range of opportunities beyond the classroom, including music, sport, leadership roles and community activities, and many are increasingly showing pride in their learning and wider contributions to school life. While further improvements are underway, the report recognises a school moving in a positive direction with a clear commitment to continued progress.
