Admissions

Thank you for considering Tirlebrook Primary School for your child. We warmly welcome you to come and visit our school and see us in action.

During the Autumn Term and early Spring Term, we hold open mornings where prospective parents are invited to have a guided tour of our school led by our Year 6 House Captains. Throughout your visit, you will have the opportunity to experience what life is like at Tirlebrook. You will also have the opportunity to meet key members of the Tirlebrook Primary School staff team and school community who will be able to answer any questions you may have. If you are unable to attend our official open mornings, or would like a follow-up visit or telephone call, these can be made by appointment by contacting the school office.

  • For information regarding an in-year admission, i.e. your child joining our school during the current academic year (2020-2021) please review our 2020-2021 Admissions Policy
  • For information regarding your child joining our school from the start of the next academic year (and most likely starting with us in Reception), please review our 2021-2022 Admissions Policy

Further details about applying for a school place for your child can be found on the Gloucestershire County Council website.

As a Foundation School, Tirlebrook's admission arrangements are decided and organised annually by the school's governing body.

Admissions Consultation

Section 89 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (the 1998 Act) requires every admissions authority to determine, before the beginning of the school year, the admission arrangements that are to apply for that year in accordance with the timetable set out in the School Admission Code 2014 (SAC). It also states that schools must fully consult with all interested parties every 7 years. Our admissions policy was out for consultation in 2016 - 2017.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the current restrictions we have in place to minimise the risk of the transmission of the virus, we are unable to hold open mornings in the way we usually would. However, we have prepared a Virtual Tour which we would invite you to watch in order to find out more about what life is like at Tirlebrook Primary School.

If you have questions about our school, we would be delighted if you contacted the school office where a member of our team will support you with your enquiry.

Thank you for your understanding.
